But can you get enough meat like that to be comfortable? Can you take out a boar with it?

where exactly are you going that you need to learn this sort of thing? maybe i can help....

Do you mean private landowners? Or do you mean council as well? Are you not aloud to hunt on land that isn't owned privately?

Do you mean where am I going in the UK, or where abroad?
where are you going abroad, why do you want to learn these things??? we need to work out if you are genuinely interested for a reason or just someone who wants to find the most abusive way to kill something....
its more of assessing why you want to learn these things and for what reason...
Ogri the trog: What? Why are you saying deliberate misunderstanding? Why are you being confrontational? I'm trying to find out about the laws. I want to go and live in the wild, in somewhere it is possible. I was just trying to find out the extent to which one can practice that in this country first. I've read all the replies, and I've read my questions, I wrote them remember? You're the one acting more like a thug, making assumptions and attacking me. I'm only asking questions.
...got a budgie and a puff adder
Hunting abroad using the methods so far discussed is more likely to end in Miles being killed rather than the animal. A step back and an introduction to reality is needed in this thread. Seriously, unless you have been trained in these methods for many years and brought up with them, you are unlikely to kill one animal, let alone enough to sustain an independant life hunting and foraging.
OMG... I asked about these things, because I already know that spearhunting, bowhunting and deadfall traps are not allowed... in THIS country, which is what I was asking about.
I never said I was going to live in the wild alone.. not that that makes any difference. I can practise spear making, bow making, arrow making, archery, spearthrowing, sheltermaking/sleeping/wildcamping, skinning, cordage making, clothes making to some extent and w/e else in this country. Those are skills. I was just trying to find out to what extent I could practise... You don't need to live with native people...
