Whilst out yesterday collecting Birch sap for wine I came accross the first coltsfoot of the year :D I think its a must for collecting some at the weekend and making more wine. Has anyone tried making colstfoot wine before? It'll be a first for me and was wondering if it is anything like dandilion wine?

I made coltsfoot wine a few years ago - a surprisingly strongly flavoured wine - quite nice - kindof like half-way between dandelion and elderflower, but with its own flavour too.

And its just the flowers that you use, not the leaves or too much flower stem...

Yeah, I heard you have to chop off the green. Im looking forward to the taste, I made dandilion and some elderflower last year and was well impressed so hopefully I will be again. Thanks for that Match:)
