I ate zander fillets in hungary last summer, it was very tasty. But deep fried with seasoning. i usually cook fish with just butter and lemon so not sure what it would taste like cooked simply.
I saw a carp on Morrisons fish counter a few months back. I reckon farmed freshwater fish is the way forward, the sea is so polluted now its not advisable to regularly eat herrings over a certain size as they have absorbed too much pcb and dioxins, i also read mitsubishi corp are stock piling tuna as stocks are depleted prices rise, its sad but i cant see things improving.
