Cliplets look like they could be really good to use. See:
http://research.Microsoft.com/en-us/um/redmond/projects/cliplets/
but, having downloaded it I cannot transfer any videos to it from my camera - even though I can play them on Windows Media.
I keep getting an error message
'Cannot open video file'
I have tried
.
http://windows.appstorm.net/how-to/juxtaposing-still-and-dynamic-imagery-with-Microsoft-cliplets/
.
which annoyingly uses the same official Microsoft sample (horses on a beach) that I have but which won't download to Cliplets on my computer (and which I can play on Windows media player)
.
where someone says:
'I've got this error when uninstalled windows media player.
So try to reinstall it in Control Panel -> Programs -> Turn Windows Features On/Off'
Being a bit thick - especially when it comes to computers - I don't understand what this actually means. The abbreviated language doesn't help but even if it was 'proper' English I'm not sure how I'd understand it. Having looked at it the 'Turn Windows Features On/Off' seems to be an on/off switch - not a place to which you would download a program.
If it just means 'Turn on windows media player' then it is already on.
I have also checked that I have downloaded the correct version of Cliplets (64 bit)
Can anyone please help me to get Cliplets working ?
EDIT
PS My camera is a Panasonic TZ30 and the videos it records are various types of AVCHD
