    Hanwag Abisko GTX

I have been on the hunt for a good winter boot with a removable liner that I can walk long distance in. I think I found what I want but does anyone have any experience with this boot? I seen they use them on the Fjallraven Polar expeditions. Any input will be appreciated? Thanks,

Considering an m90 parka and trousers

I was looking for an outer layer to put over my other clothes when I am not moving. The m90 parka and tousers seem nice but I am worried the parka will be to long. I seen a few threads on the m90 but it is hard to find a picture of anyone actually wearing it. I would appreciat it it if some one...

    Sorel Caribous anyone ?

I dont know about the sorels but if you want a pac boot you may want to look at Lacrosse pine tops. I dont know if you can get them in the UK. I got a pair this year and so far they have been very good. They have foam liners which make the the boot very flexable and seem to be pretty warm. The...

Looking for a do it all spoon knife

If you want jack of all trades knife that can cave all those things and about anything else you should look into a crooked knife or mocatogun. I have carved all the things you mentioned with mine and a ton of other stuff like bows, axe handles, arrows, I can go on and on, it is an excelent tool.

    UK vs USA

We got black bear here but they are not a big problem unless they have cubs and no matter what the game commition says we got cougers in PA but I feel fine with a 4 inch blade. It at least gives you a chance to defend yourself. I heard a story where a guy got attacked by a cougar and fought it...

Flint and Steel v's reality stick

Sometimes (at least on the one I bought and the one I made) you have to strike the steel on the flint a wile untill the steel polishes up and then it gives off better sparks. I also noticed you get larger sparks on a sharp edge of the flint so after the edge dulles up a bit I use the stricker to...

    UK vs USA

"Whereas in the USA a great big knife seems to be a must, because it is perceived by most as a weapon first and useful as a tool afterwards." I respectfuly dissagree with you. I agree that there are people here that do think that way. I can at least speek for this area. Around here in this...
