    you are probably doing everything right! they don't shower as many sparks, as do the the firesticks. do you strike on the white part of the flint or the darker inner part?

    Looking for a leather strop.

    I use a belt from a charity shop and T-Cut for the honing paste. knives razor sharp every time! my brother uses toothpaste on his strop, and get the same result :)

    always take sweets! (ones that don't melt easy) doesn't matter what nationality kids are, they all love sweets :) and a good way of breaking the ice! In the past, I used to carry a big bag of plastic animals (stuff found at woolies) in my Bergen.(not toy soldiers!) kids love animals...
