Not remotely bushcraft of course, but as I was going through my sharps box I thought there may be some interest here:

Here we have a well-used and battered bayonet, hence £30 delivered to a UK address.

Please can you tell me if there's a three letter code or a makers name stamped on the blade along with a date?
Also is there a number stamped into the scabbard?

Hi Andy

On One side of the blade near the bolster the number 53 is stamped, below which Is the letter S. On thr othe side it looks to me like 41CCI . There are 2 very small stamps at the pommel end, which I think say WA 883. On the scabbard Is the number 57.
