If no one offers, your son would be welcome to borrow mine. I would like it back though - Chris Tolkien gave it to me and signed it so it has some sentimental value. For all that - its a book, and younger people should read it - any use?

Same here but my books are spread over a couple of houses, will try and root it out, really kind offer of Red that book may be worth something. Every child should read it

Aaaaaah, the Hobbit. In all seriousness, I think it's how I started going outdoors when I was younger. Cracking book. Again, I have a copy if you don't find any others and think maybe Red's is a bit of a gamble.

I have a copy of the `silmarillion` if you like.

a bit tougher but still full of great stories to tell, and that is what JRRT is all about isnt it? telling tales.
