Found a source of stainless shim stock that works out roughly £36 for a roll of 300mm x 2000mm x 0.1mm 301 stainless ( or £45 for the same spec but in 316 ) which is enough for a 6.5' by 3" pipe. There's a flat out carriage charge of £21 so it would make sense to order a couple and split the costs. Then 1st class signed for to get it to you would be about £5. Cheapest place I've found it, elsewhere been quoted £100+

roll (301) + carriage costs would be £57 (if it were just me)
rolls (301)+ carriage costs and 1 1st class signed for would be £98. £49 each
rolls (301) + carriage costs and 2 1st class signed for would be £139. £46 each
rolls (301) + carriage costs and 3 1st class signed for would be £180. £45 each
rolls (301) + carriage costs and 4 1st class signed for would be £221 £44.20 each
