This is a really cool idea! Im currently laying out patterns for a tunic and a bush shirt out of cotton canvas ( the bush shirt is going to be water proofed and possibly fleece lined) but im not great on a sewing machine. I think this is a great way to get an introduction in to making ones own gear and some aspects of self reliance which, especially since the economic downturn, have been ever more popular.
