Hi,

I have figured out how to embed photos from flikr so here is my day trip post.

No idea what type of spider this is but it was living on the floor and had a funnel shaped web. There were loads of them around.

That's my father viewing some Dryad's Saddle. Apparently edible when young? Plenty of them around.

Cricket. Lots of these around.

Wild mint can be found on the wetter parts of the wood.

Wild garlic can be found in patches across the woods.

Dogs vomit slime mold. Yes, really!

I have no idea what this vine like thing is attached to the beech.

Nice colour. No idea what type of insect it is.

Visited a deer park before the woods. The beautiful fallow bucks are in velvet and can be hand fed.

I also found a few pignuts and there should be glowworms there shortly too.

Thanks for all your comments folks.

I am back there tonight in the hope of getting some good glowworm pics and taking a friend there tomorrow for a full tour as he is interested in photography. So probably more pics to come.

I am happy to take others on a tour but prefer small groups as I think the experience is generally better.
