I'm working with a ...hmmm, not sure how to translate "lenhador" -it's not "lumberjack" ... fire-wood-guy picking up what he chops down. He sells in kg/tons!
In the mild winters and really winter-inefficient house here in Portugal, we're burning around 500 kg per month of hardwood (- probably a bit over a cubic metre), plus whatever heaters my dad has in his room and the heater I have in mine... the fire only really heats the massively tall living-room and I need to dry my clothes!
