Hi all,
I may be getting my hands on some fresh willow. Up to about 20" diameter.
Varying lengths. Beggers cant be choosers. Is Willow much use to a bushcrafter.
I need some ideas and pointers towards projects for bushcraft.
I am pretty novice so no chair bodging!

Cheers in advance for any suggestions.

Nick

PS- I have some old, well seasoned planks of beech in my garage. Are they any use to a bushcrafter? I have plans for a buck saw.

You could use the willow for stools, or spoons. Or a kuksa. I carved a bowl out of willow once it worked fine.

Thank you.
So it must be quite versatile then?
With the amount I am getting I could plan out what to do with it and spend the time splitting it into correct size pieces to store for later use.
Realistically, the splitting and preparation will take me a while and I will probably need a break before starting the projects.
I am going to look up Kuksa tutorials now!

Yeah it's fairly versatile. It's a bit soft though depending on the species, makes carving easier but also makes the stuff you carve less durable.
