Will be living out of my tent for a few days....Hunting on new Land!!

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
Well, I inherited 40 acres of beautiful land in northern Maine and will travel to it next week for some camping and hunting.

I plan on parking my car off to the side of the road and will be exploring my new land.

It is heavily forrested, with two fields and several logging trails cut throught it.

I plan on hunting deer for three days and only using what I bring on my back.

Wish me luck.....It is getting cold up here in Maine.

Bringing:

1 Dutch surplus tent with a rubber bottom.
1 Swedish 35L backpack.
1 Sleeping bag
1 Wool blanket.
Dried food for 3 days. Mountian house meals.
1 Swiss Volcano stove kit. I have modifed it so it will take a Svea alcohol stove.
1 spare set of clothes and sleepwear.
Several small items (cleaning, sewing kit, compass, fire equipment, etc.)
1 Marlin 30-30 lever action rifle and scope.
1 Mora knife
1 saw
2 canteens

My only concern is bringing enough water with me. I may have to cheat and keep some extra in the car.

Good on you :beerchug: Enjoy!!!!! You can feel it now, 1736, all your tensions melt away, take in all that good Maine air. Sleep like a king what a life. CG :yo:
