Hi all, did a search on this but could not find the answer I was after.

Q. On the adjustable loop how much needs to be threaded through to secure?

Is there a recommended amount ie. 8' or a formula ie. at lease 2x the loop?

sorry if this has been covered, hoping to make some tomorrow.

Thanks

I used 18" on my dd traveler, and that allowed for the double fisherman's knot and the larks head.. Hope that helps

Assuming you are using 7/64" Amsteel, you need to mark out 6" for the adjustable bury. When spliced, this will end up at 5".

This will give you maximum strength at around 700kg.

You could quite happily use less, and many do, but thats the manufacturers basic specs for WS's

FWIW, all mine are 6".

All the manufacturers specs vary slightly, all the specs are on the appropriate makers website. Samson sells Amsteel and the exact specs are there.

There are great tutorials on Hammock Forums for making these, I'd recommend a perusal.
