hello, first time poster here. Ive enjoyed reading this forum. I am a habitual woods lurker and tent dweller on the mid coast of Maine, usa. and have been known to eat the ocasional squirrel. I have a 2xl swandri bushshirt (too bad xmas is only once a year) and was wondering where I could find a water proof or resistant jacket that is long enough to cover the bush shirts hem. thanks woody

Are you trying to cover the bush shirt completely because when I got mine I thought it was hard to cover it because of the length so I got some buttons and stiched them into the inside of the jacket. So I could fold it up and down when I needed to. Its now the same length as my waist so all jackets can fit over it. Dunno if that helps.

It interesting to see the two solutions that take such extreamly different aproaches. And and a 230 pound difference in cost. I think I'll look for a trench coat to shorten, dye olive and waterproof. I just need to avoid the "trench coat mafia" look. I wore out my grandfahters ventile anorak about 10 years ago.
I had all the same gear you guys are carrying ( ventile, mora, pocket hatchet, mocasins, and surplus poncho, pack, pad and"kit" In general) , but never heard the term bushcraft. Dirty Hippie yes I heard that. Spent 6 years In the pacific northwest , alot of that time living out of a pack. I may have grown up but I still try to live in a tent or on a small boat at least 6 months of the year... you can take a hippie out of the dirt , but you cant take the dirt out of a hippy. woody

Did come across a giant wollen cape expensive

"Bushcraft Woollen Cape – A unique, individually made double layer wool cape. Welted seams and a button up front with wood buttons comes with a large integral hood with drawstring closure for added warmth. Two large hand warmer pockets. Button down inside pocket and snap up sides to keep wind out. Laid down length ways and folded in half the cape becomes a useful bedroll. Available in green or brown with green inner.
Length in total: 175cm
Width: 150cm"

£150

Its not waterproof but im just wondering if you could proof it still wouldnt be waterproof but could be water resistant to a certain degree.

I'll have a look out for anything else I see that will cover the bush shirt but cant think of much except poncho.

Good luck finding one or making your own.
