Hi. New guy here. Just to get used to how all this stuff works when I was a boy I remember my father making a whistle out of a single piece of green stick. As far as I remember it worked really well and I am sure could be used at different pitches depending on how you blew it or where you placed a finger. I would love to find out if someone out there can tell me how this is done.

single pitched one is easy to make with willow.

cut a length off. tap the bark hard all the way round and twist it, you'll hear a pop as it detaches, you can then slide it off (you really can! hahah) and cut a notch in both the bark and the now naked stick! slide it back on and give it a blow! perfect!
