As the title suggests,
So if you were to choose, What would be your favourite bush food and how would you go about preparing it?

I voted other as I don't hunt game.
So my favorites in no particular order are.
Bullrush root starch combed out and made into cookies
Bullrush shoot toasted over fire
Puffballs dipped in egg with smoky bacon.
Amethyst deceivers with bacon
Knotweed crumble
Bilberry cheese cake
Blackberry and apple pie
Sorrel straight from hedgerow
Sorrel stuffed trout
Sloe blossom
grifolia frondosa ( hen {not chicken}of the woods fungus)
etc etc etc.....

I voted other as I had a stew once of venison rabbit and pigeon. The nicest thing I've had in a long time. I'd make a clone of it in a put over a fire with bannock to mop up the gravy.

I don't know if you would count it as bush food but my favourite thing to collect and eat is prawns/shrimp. :)

As long as you haven't bought them from a shop then of course its bush food, anything wild, if caught or taken from the wild should be classed as bush food IMHO.:22:

I voted venison as my wife is the best venison cook ever! However, I agree that this pole suffers from the same problem as many others, lack of combined options. I would like to have voted for a stew of venison, rabbit and root veg as that really is my favourite, but I could't. Equally there are no veg options. Just a thought.
