Maybe the shops should temporally stop selling disposable barbecues while everything is so dry?
Yeah we're hearing stories of the modern culprit being the disposable barbecue none see but suppose to replace the supposed but not seen discarded fag end of yore when there are distinct other possibilities like for instance litter dumped in the environment. Litter potentially in the form of discarded transparent drinks containers more commonly plastic these days but the curved shoulder of forms a lens through which light can be focused to a point and then there's the concave surface on the underside of a pressurised drinks can and am hearing from the Aussie crowd hot engine exhausts, certainly catalysers can be a cause for bush fires.
We do need to minimise the risk and I would say it is no co-incidence that the peak of grass and woodland fires occurs during the school holidays, but no reason to penalise people who are responsible and careful.
No not drunk, it's an affliction I have in that I don't follow the herd and in not following the herd I am not predisposed to jumping to conclusions based upon thus far no evidence found. Further because of my interest in bushcraft/survival I know there are many ways in which dry tinder can be ignited as yes with these wild fires we are talking about dry tinder.

One of bourne books or possibly ripley or the day of the jackal , mentions briefly burning out a land holder using a bottle carefully placed to make use of this effect, causing a fire and therefore forcing the unwanted owner of the land and possibly killing them. Don’t know why that small snippet of a sentence stuck with me by it seems appropriate somehow given the conversation. This effect is a commonly known issue in the south of France.

I just asked because if it was less likely to start wild fires then all bottles could be made from coloured glass. Some bottles also have a plastic wrap around them.
Better would be if we could orchestrate another ' Don't be a litterbug ' campaign as happened in my childhood to well educate myself to deposit litter in bins where provided or take my litter home.
