One of the more interesting items to turn up in my clearout...
This is a West German Border Guard water bottle, likely made around 1960-ish. It's a really neat little piece of kit - unclip the elastic strap to release the mug, which has a fold-out handle. Lift the bottle out to be able to use the lower half of the canteen (note that the straps aren't removable from that, so you can't cook in the lower half). It includes a belt loop and a dog clip so lots of ways to carry it.
All made from aluminium, and in full working order. £12 posted.
