hi guys
firstly im new to the site so id just like to say hello to all, please be gentle, ive been looking to get some new wellies they are muck boots artic sport wellies and grubs hunters with the vibram sole.firstly the wellys need to be warm as we sit around for long periods of time with no activity during the winter, which usually ensures you get cold feet, would these wellies be suitable???i have found a grubs stockist so i can take a peep at them, however i can not find a muck boot stockist in the birmingham.area, any views advice would be great.all the best.rick

been down that road with quailty socks but when your sitting in the same position for a few days, that basic welly just isnt upto the job, well not on my feet anyway, they have to have some form of insulation aswell as good socks

I have some muck boots and am happy with them cant remember which ones they are but they have good grips on the sole and the uppers are woodland camo , I have found when worn from coming out of the hamock in the morning to getting back in it at night my feet are a bit damp but I would think any wellies would do this

Grubs Stalkers are fantastic!

Real vibram soles and neoprene uppers. I did 10 miles through mud and all sorts at the weekend - cam home with warm, dry feet - lovely - not a blister in sight!

i have used skeetex a fishing welly, they are very warm,on the downside they do make your feet sweat alot, are not comfy when your walking miles down the river either.maybe im asking a little to much from a welly but i was led to believe that bramblers/hunters/farmers and country folk pay a little more but demand quailty

What's your activity sa?

Fishing's the only thing that comes to mind,so insulation is the factor, but if you don't move about the extremities will become cold without an external heat source,i.e. fire, whatever you're wearing.

You could put your feet in the water for a min' or two dry thoroughly, put socks and wellies back on and they'll be toasty in no time.(as long as you're not hypothermic firstly:rolleyes: ).

carp fishermen,we do alot of walking to get where we want to go then sit arnd a fair bit,i may be willing to try a 100 star jumps every few hours lol,i would rather my feet be a bit sweaty and warm, which skeetex do but any amount of moving to-from and they really take a toll on your heels etc

can anyone tell me how i acn find a muck boot stockist in my area, ive tried loads of searches but just keep coming up blank

your thoughts on them bernie,as im also looking into these also

As mentioned in a previous thread, i read BR's report on Grub Stalkers and went and bought a pair. I've never been a wellie fan but i get on great with these. I think the sole and ankle support make them feel like waterproof knee length walking boots. Highly recommended.
