Weil's disease or Leptospirosis

Forager
Leptospirosis (also known as Weil's disease, Weil's syndrome, canicola fever, canefield fever, nanukayami fever, 7-day fever, Rat Catcher's Yellows, Fort Bragg fever, and Pretibial fever.

A number of us are BC'ers who also use canoes and the waterways. I do a lot of tracking near water. Weil's disease or Leptospirosis is serious and treatable life threatening disease.

If your work or leisure brings you close to rivers lakes and canals then you should as an essential precaution observe a high personal standard of hand hygene. I would recommend both handwashing and the use of antibacterial hand sanitizer in the field.
