Hi guys just got back from a long weekend in the lakes care of THE M.I.L.

Had a great time with a lot of rambling and lots of fun all round

Here are a few shots from one of our days round Tarn Hows Lake

And i dont know what tree this is but its bark was amazing it could be peeled off like coconut matting

I hope you enjoyed these photo's i know i enjoyed taking them

I have realised however that i want a better camera so now to try and convince SWMBO that £500 for a DSLR is not a waste of money but an investment in remembering all our nice days out in better clarity and quality!!

yeah really enjoyed it, i took a sample of birch polypore and am drying it to try to use it for tinder but not sure how to prepare it tbh anyone got any tips

yeah there's a few around, just saw another one down here at the rural life centre, amazing bark all fibrous, am I right it thinking the bark being like that is a defence against fire?

yeah we ended up going for that particular walk in the rain that why the sky looks so dull in the pics they were taken between breaks in the rain

I was hoping to get some shots the day before when we went on a bit of a hill walk but my little girl wanted to take the camera on a different walk that she and her aunts were going on and then promptly forgot that she had it and didnt take a single snap lol

Dave, re polypore, cut it when it's still wet into thin strips and spread it over some newspaper mate. Cutting it when dry will blunt your knife in no time. Nice pics btw. ;)
