I was surprised by this, as they're not cotton. They're polymeric, but they went right up with my firesteel.
One benefit to this is that because they're some polymer, they don't go up in a puff of smoke. The sheet melts in on itself and then burns for a while.
I don't know if it's waterproof though. I'll have to check next time we do laundry.
