Good news,
Yesterday, my nice neighbour bought a new hose, as his old one doesn't reach his new hot tub(jammy so and so) he was going to throw the old one away, so I begged it off him. It doesn't reach the top of the garden, but i can fill cans
Sad news,
my friend with sheep has blue tongue, which is spread by mosquitoes. He tells me it's rampant on exmoor, and he's lost four more of his little flock, so that's 7 out of 12 gone. Lucky to get three in the freezer before this nasty disease hit.
So sad.
Scary news,
another fire from a discarded cigarette but along the wooded pathway into town. That's two in two weeks. This time it started very close to my house, about a hundred yards away in the school woodland. Thanks to two quick thinking young ladies, grabbing a bucket from her nearby house, and using the pond as a water source,it was pretty much under control by the time the fire brigade came from Bampton 8 miles away, over the county border as our lot were already out on a grass fire on the moor.
