The right hand image shows the lanyard as designed. I made a extended lanyard/diamond knot and added a sliding solomon bar to tighten the loop around the wrist as desired.
I realized that the bar could slide the other way. I put the loop around the lip of a water bottle and tightened the bar. Holds securely.

Hey that's a good idea. My wife is always complaining she catches her nail in the top of her Cheeki water bottle when she picks it up. If she makes one of these and slips it round the neck.... problem solved. Thanks for posting this.
