Take a look at the creations this guy conjures up. Stunning is an understatement.
The video titled 'the making of wood carved rattlesnake walking cane #43' is just superb. I know, he uses a lot of power tools, but still an incredibly skilled chap.

He's made a very lovely thing there; he's clearly watched a lot of rattlers and got a real feel for them.

I don't think the use of power tools is neccessarily a bad thing, much as I love a hand made tool or artifact; it's just a different way of doing it. For various reasons my hands are no longer what they were and quite often now when making something I find myself unable to do something I've always found easy and natural to do in the past. So it's often a case of use a power tool or it doesn't get done; and there must be more makers out there who find themselves in the same boat.

I bet if you'd offered Oetzi a Dremel and the means and ability to use it he'd have bitten your hand off! :)

That's a beautiful thing and those power tools are still hand tools, it's not like it was 3D printed or CNC machined.
Yes, indeed chaps. There's still a skill in using the powered tools. Still reeling from the skill displayed.

The man has some serious skills and patience.

It's amazing to see that every scale is hand branded with incredible precision and then painted with such fine brushes. He must dedicated 100's of hours to making one of those canes
