Far too hot in the workshop for me of late so projects have been few & far between, but have been doing a fair bit of whittling whilst sitting up the ponds and/or on the patio when there has been a nice sea breeze to cool things down.

Amongst the things whittled are Whimmy diddles, a Fox, cricket bat, canoe paddle, hanging hooks, rounders bat, spreaders & bowie knife letter openers

I have to ask, whats a Whimmy Diddle?
Nice work!

The Whimmy Diddle or YeeHaw as it is also known, is a traditional child's toy. To use the Whimmy Diddle move the rubbing stick against the notched stick to make the propeller spin, with practice and perhaps a little magic, you can make the propeller stop and spin in the other direction?

Nice work! I especially like Mr Fox.

Those Bowie style letter openers are brilliant, just be careful as you have inadvertently created a stealth knife, undetectable by metal detecting arches!

Always a pleasure to see the fruits of your labours though.

Very good carving and clean wood (species?)
My hands perspire a lot in the heat.
How did you avoid getting "hand grime" on that fresh, clean-looking wood?
That fox is a classic bottle stopper for some distilled essence!

Wood is a mix of Aspen, Willow, Hazel & Birch, hand grime, just got clean hands i guess
