Cats,
I am after braided fabric tape on a roll, inch or so wide with either First Nations, Inuit or Scandinavian / Boreal woods type nature sybols
or patterns on.
Of the sort one sometimes sees atound the bottom of Native arctic parkas.
Just spent an hour on Google but I may not be using the right name for the stuff!?:)

Any ideas folks?

Actually, it may not be braided at all, just patterned.
The big problem is, I am not even sure what the stuff I want is called!lol!!
I can picture it but that is not very helpfull...
 
That stuff realy is beautiful Mary!
Now if I could find something like that with the design features mentioned I would be sorted!
( I will go back and go throughtit all tho, make sure I have not missed anything!)

There was a thread on here last year I think asking for the same stuff as someone wanted to tart up their sweed snow smock
 
inkle weaving or card weaving are possibilities if you want to make your own designs - either one can give that "braided" feel to the textile with the card weaving being the thicker of the two techniques
