I work in the same time zone - at Castell Henllys in Pembrokeshire - and had Dave Budd of this parish make me a nice blade with a steel edge welded to an Iron back in true period style. Handled the blade and made the sheath myself.... it passed the scrutiny of the management of the site :)DSCI0002 (1).JPGDSCI0003 (1).JPGDSCI0004 (1).JPGDSCI0006.JPG
I patinated the blade with vinegar to highlight the difference in the metals. It cuts, takes and holds an edge like a dream and is a joy to use!

I'll put them in a box and stow them safely. Let me know nearer the time and we'll arrange to meet up.
There's cordage and firelighting stuff too if it'd be of use ?

Yes, thanks a bunch. All that you supply me with I make use of; even if its giving to my tribe who are very grateful.

(I have a tribe now; can you believe it? Scottish too...)
