I am organising the Swindon Ridgeway District Centenary Scout camp, due to take place on the last weekend in September in a country park in Swindon.
We have plently of new-fangled 'fun' activities for the kids to take part in, but I think it would be good if they could experience some more traditional, and useful, activities such as shelter building, firelighting, etc. I've read about, and seen pictures of, some of the activities put on for kids at the recent bushmoot and they look great!
Would any bushcrafters be willing to give their time on the 29th (or 30th) September to help out with this?
There will be several hundred kids on the camp, but no more than 10 or so at a base at any one time. Age range is between 8 and 18.
I can provide extra volunteers to assist where required. Any volunteers can camp on site if they wish, and I'm sure I can sort out catering for anyone who attends.
Thanks for your help.
