Hello all,
Some friends of mine are having a baby soon, and I thought it would be a nice gesture to carve the little sprog a spoon.
Unfortunately I'm stuck in a bit of an Urban jungle at the moment and I'm not sure where I could get some nice wood to make one out of. I thought maybe some fruit wood. There's plenty of willow around here, but I'm a bit wary of the fact it's got medicinal qualities when it's for a little 'un.
So, I wonder if any of you have some suitable stock lying around, or maybe know where I could get some for a reasonable price?
Being a bit of a perfectionist I'd prefer to have enough wood for more than one, just in case I mess up :banghead:

Cheers in advance!
Neil

I have some nice wild cherry floating about. Has some nice reds in it.

PM me your details and I shall pop some in the post if you like.

How much are you after?

I am away for a few days teaching so probably wont be able to get to the post office till thursday next week.

Wayne, that would be great. :You_Rock_
I'm off to Norway next Friday with Torjus, Chris and Elma for the best part of 2 weeks so there's no real rush. I certainly won't have a chance to carve before then.
Complication is that I'm also of no fixed abode from the same date and I'll be staying at a pals so I'll have to PM you once I've got his postal address...

I guess enough for 2 or 3 small spoons would be great, so a chunk about 2 to 3 inches in diameter and 6 to 8 inches long would be ideal, but whatever you have that I could squeeze even one from would be ace.

Cheers!
Neil
