Walnut board !

Got bored with making round stuff recently so decided to make a walnut chopping or serving board instead, finished rather fittingly with walnut oil !

I started with the tree !

Planked it up with chainsaw and bandsaw about 15 or 20 years ago and finallygot around to using one of the pieces !

Had bowed and split in the meantime of course, so needed careful layout and lots of planing before sanding, raising the grain with a damp cloth a couple of times and more sanding, before eventually oiling to bring it to life

Have lockdown to thank I guess for finally getting around to using some of it !
