Vintage sweeps brush rods

Found a skip and so naturally I had to have a rummage.

I pulled out some thin ply for my projects and a couple of white acrylic sheets.

Plus a few old sweeps brush rods

Missing a few brass fittings, I now have 2 females and 4 males.

The rods themselves are roughly 1 inch diametre cane.

Im sure they have some use.

What would you do?

give them a very thorough clean as they may well have been used for clearing drains where folks toilet waste goes.

We call it waste, but in many countries they call it a resource!


Soak properly in undiluted Bleach. What materials are they made from?
