I switched my ridgeline setup to a pair of fake loop aliens from eBay (one English pound for three)

Impressed with the speed, options and cheapness

Cheap as chips! just ordered a couple of sets to give them a try. I've just received some of the line locks from DD today but they are plastic these look like they might last a bit longer. I'm rubbish at knots so yes, I prefer the 'hi-tech' version of tying a knot.

Ahh - gadgets:)
Fun - but not my kind of thing really - I will stick to my trusted prussics :)
They remind me of the old Fig 8 abseil devices .. but more complicated ...
I may now have to look out my climbing gear and have a play anyway... :)

The cheapo aluminium ones are 3.4g and I took one of them up to 148kg before it failed.
I have stainless steel ones (12.5g) for my hammock suspension, took that up to 450kg, best I could pull with a ratchet strap. Will try again with a Tirfor winch.
But 450kg is plenty for me in my hammock!

I use prussicks for sliding/tensioning my tarp along my full ridgeline (not a continuous ridgeline, that is a different beast).
