very basic alu bottle cup

thought i would make an easy cup and cozy out of an alu bottle and cheap rolll matt but seen the botle has a gold colored liner, i was expecting it to be silver alu right through, is there anything that might be harmful that could leach when under high heat?

When the bottles are made they spray a lacquer in them to stop the aluminium tainting the liquid in side, I have put hot water in my sigg and it did have a funny taste from the lacquer. I would guess the cheap bottles will be the same.

that was an idea i looked into but i think its too battered for that, it has a couple of dents

that won't matter, make a white box style, which involves taking the spout end and inverting it inside the cup, should take about 5 mins and will be the best little stove you ever own! I'll see if I can find you a video tutorial
