F ollowing on from a thread over on BB, has anyone used a shovel to cook on ?, i've seen steam train crews do it, and recall seeing it used during an outdoors programme in America many years ago, so has anyone ....?

Yup i've used an ally snow shovel to cook a salmon on an open fire in Norway, worked really well, and no damage to shovel, I think i've even got a pic somewere.i'll have a dig about.

I have a good old builders shovel in my van all year round, just never tried it, mind when i have an open fire i'm usualy on foot.

I've used my shovel to take food out of the fire or a pit oven but not to cook on directly.
