And by the way, he's wrong. 112 isn't a number that will work here as he stated.
I've never tried it but do 112 calls get redirected to 911?

But what I'm saying is 112 wouldn't work here. The only way to be sure would be to try it but if it does work, I'd have to explain to the dispatcher. And possibly to the cop that shows up anyway just to be sure I wasn't being held at gunpoint when I told the dispatcher it was an accident.

This service is mainly for the UK and Europe, the USA is still playing catchup in mobile networking but should still work although I'd dial 911.
We're lucky in the UK and most of Europe in that mobile signals are to be had in most places without issue. Satellite phones are getting cheaper all the time but are really only any use if outdoors. I'll end up buying one, don't need one but I'm a soft touch for gizzmos's so I want one lol.
