I'm after a simple, but well made, plug in USB torch or light. I.e. Just the light and not a battery.

I have a power bank with a built in light that is useful and long running, but faulty. I've looked at other powerbanks with lights but the choice isn't great so a plug in light would increase my choice.

I've tried those cheap 50p plug in usb lights and they give a reasonable output but the quality isn't great. I've had a bit of a search and only found what looks like an out of date design but a proper torch attachment.

Does anything like this exist, does anyone know where to look or what to search on?

Are you looking for directional focused lighting or flood type lighting?

Neither or both. Just something you'd get with a simple AA LED torch, not a flood or spot but a plain torch.

The AliExpress one is on the right lines but a bit gimmicky. I'd rather have an ali body and no zoom or levels.

Thanks for the links. I didn't want a light on the end of a cable for my original use but did notice the Ikea light and it's on my list if/when I order from them.

The XTAR was the sort of thing I was after, but a simple single white light. Nice to know there are things out there I've not seen.

One problem I have discovered with those very basic plug in USB 'mood' lights is the battery bank turns off after several seconds as it doesn't think it's supplying anything. OK for a back up but not as a replacement for a bank with a light.

Don't know what battery bank you have, but Anker branded ones have a 'trickle charge' mode which allows a low current to be supplied constantly. Your only other option is to get a 'keep alive board' which adds an extra load to the bank to keep it on

Thanks for the tip. Mine are Anker but don't seem to offer a trickle mode. Useful to know for future reference.

The other way to get trickle mode is a long press on the button. On mine one of the 4 charge status LEDs turns from blue to green
