twins for twins

Made these for my two nephews ( or cousins, always forget when to use what title)
They are 8 years old now, and I and their father thought that was a proper age to have a fixed blade, so after some instructions they left the house with a very big smile.

Lauricarbon blade 95 mm, some leather and fiber and some wood from the seats from the canoe, well, wood that was cut of. I think it is beech.

Nice work Penvisser!! Wish you were my uncle when I was 8 years old :D ;)

For your info ;) :
Cousin - term to show you are related to someone, because you share a common grandparent. Not gender specific.
Niece - for girls
Nephews - for boys

In french it's completely different ... but that's another story :D

Nephew, niece, are the children of your brother or sister
(First) Cousins are the children of your parent’s siblings (your uncle or aunts kids)
(Second) Cousins are the children of your parent’s cousins.

Two very nice knives very much to my taste I hope the lads enjoy using them. It must be great to have an uncle make such a cool thing for you.

Nice work. So glad you live somewhere where it's still considered OK to give kids real tools like these. I got my first SAK about the same age which to me was the best thing ever, so am sure they're ecstatic.

Hi Penvisser

I still have the folder given to me by my grandfather when I was 8 years old, had some great fun and learnt a lot with it, would not part with it for the world.

I look forward to hearing how their skills progress.

Hi Andy, well things about kives are going worse then ever, there were quit a few incidents and some were lethal with knives on schools here in The Netherlands.
So the knife regulations are being tightened as we speak. But I think it is our resonsibility to learn our childeren to deal with knives the right way. I have carried one in my pocket since the age of 7 and never used it against a person or in an other bad way.
But the good always suffer from the "bad".
