Tripod grill

Hi All
Just a heads up to say next week lidl's are selling a tripod grill with a fire bowl and hanging basket for £20-00.
Don't know about the quality but for that price it might be worth a look, I think these normally go for around £80-00.

Great find, one problem, I may be away next week (Gran Canaria) if all goes to plan. I'll know for sure by Thursday, if I am away, can some kind member please pick one up for me?

It looks to be the same as the one I got from them some 4 or 5 years ago.

The fire pit base is good, very large. We use it when car camping a few times per year with no sign of any damage yet.

However, the hanging grill bit was pants, we tried it when we got it, and it was too unstable - if you took food from one side, it tipped over to the other side and some food would fall into the fire. Very very substantial grill though, if you could make up a proper way to support it over the fire you'd be very pleased.

Are they the stainless steel firedish Landemann version (firebowl does not rust) or the black enamal, mild steel version? I have the stainless version and for the price they are great (don't rust). Take the point about placing food directly onto grill on one side as the weight makes it move in the opposite direction so the grill plate leans. However I use a 20 inch frying pan on mine and it works a treat. I cook loads on it. At least 4 times a week. One of my best buys for the price. Can get the stainless version on Ebay for &#163;27 delivered.

the webpage says "Enamelled fire bowl", and it looks the same as mine which is just black enamelled - having said that, I have no sign of rust inside, but a little bit on the underside. I should probably think about painting some protection on it.
