Been looking up the tree linked below an evergreen, with an unusual bark. Can't I'd it, anyone ?

What does it smell like ?
Some of the junipers (also called red cedar, like reedmace is called bullrush) peel like that.

Smell - crush the needles and it smells like pineapple. Which a website mentioned.

I didn't know it smelled of pineapple though

Is it being bonsai'd ? I thought those cedars grew giant ?

She is topiary cutting it, ornamental. It's about 8ft now.

I'm 90% sure. Until I find a picture confirming the bark.

Doesn't look like Western Red Cedar to me, though I think it is part of the Cypress family. There are many cultivars, used as hedging or, as in this case, for their landscaping potential.

Google Image Blue Cypress, it throws up some more likely options.
