After reading about the Firelighting with a Can of Coke and a Toblerone thing, I decided to follow some of the suggestions on the site and have a go at using a torch reflector as a solar condenser. After about 5 minutes I got the hang of it and used the thing to light fags all afternoon. The particular torch reflector I had didn't focus the light into a point, but a ring about 6mm across; which by chance is the same diameter as the fags I usually roll. It would light the fag more or less evenly around its circumference, taking just a couple of seconds to light if held just right.
Not a major achievement in life, I know, but a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
