Whilst walking the dog tonight, the wind blew my hat off. It's an Indiana Jones style fedora & doesn't have a lanyard.

Was about to reach for the paracord in my pocket to improvise an external loop that I could put around the hat-band to tighten it when I remembered the home-made paracord slip lead in my pocket. Tightened this around my head & hat stayed on in the fiercest gusts I encountered

I heard in Indiana Jones they stapled the fedora on to his head. Sounds a bit iffy but you never know.
