I can't remember if you've said the flintlock long arm is a rifle or a shotgun? Having shot round ball in a percussion shotgun I've been surprised how accurate they can be.

What do you use the pistol for?

My long gun is a fusil. I do not use the pistol for anything, but as an 18th century living historian & experimental archaeologist it is part of the equipment I need to carry.
