That's amazing!

I've never seen anything like that before. Skins or fabric yes, but I never realized that birch bark was used too.

I guess that if its good for trade canoes, its good for a tipi.

The saamis used/uses birch bark in their peat lavvus. They cover a wooden frame with birch bark and then cover the bark with peat.
Bark exposed to wind and sun will deterioate in some years, but bark hidden under peat can stay water proof and good for 50+ years.
