Time for some proper beachcombing

I'm back after a little siesta away.. Well, after looking at the new series on BBC1 (Monty's great escape) I finally realized what it was that was puzzling me.. He was suppost to be living the life of a beachcomber but he has actually not done any beachcombing!

Spurred on by this - and the fact I am now unemployed - I decided to head out to Poole Harbour and see what I could find..

Some Cockles..

Some soft shell clams..

So I decided to leave them cleaning out for 24 hours and have a bit of a cook-up. That meant I needed some bread however...

And man cannot live by bread alone - He needs beer as well!!

Clams being cooked tonight with a bit of chorizo and white wine and cream, probally with pasta I think..

Not bad - I should get my own TV series - 'Dave's bored at home and makes a mess'

Dave I'm in the same boat bud and you know I love being creative too. It's so good to see what you are doing, very inspiring indeed. If you were not so far away I'd suggest we meet up and do a week of that! Great stuff bud, keep your chin up.
