Those little Lansky sharpening tools

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
I've got one of the Lansky blade medics too, I really like it, its quick and easy to use. I'm not too good with a stone. I also bought the little plastic one for being a bit lighter to carry.

Be careful with those things, they're a bit aggressive and can tear the metal, especially if it's stainless.
Not bad for a blade that needs a lot of work (WHY did it need a lot of work??) but I wouldn't use one to get a finely finished edge.

Thanks for the warning, I tend to use the ceramic side mostly for keeping and edge and just use the carbide steel side for little knicks. Must learn to use a proper stone sometime especially as there is so much good advice here.
