Has anyone else noticed that the mild weather has extended the activites of dragonflies?

I don't think I've ever seen dragonflies so late in the season. This was taken on Sunday.

I do a daily ride along a river path, each morning I must get hit by a dozen or so shagging dragonfly's. I did see a Rook come out of a tree the other day and catch a pair in mid air and eat it, yuk!

Yes they're still about, had one sitting on the back of my hand last week. :)

Quite a few of the red butterflies about too.I just hope this late activity doesn't hurt their chances of survival through the winter,if we get one that is.

Was told by our countryside warden that common darters, which yours looks like, can often be seen as late as december. I have noticed loads of them around this year. Nice pic btw.........
