Not sure tbh, I like heat at my back too. I generally take a hot water bottle if it's baltic out when I'm camping.
Not terribly bushcrafty, but a damned site easier than digging a trench fire and heating stones

Heavy but it's safer than that steam powered mate we saw a few months ago.

Those wee clicker things are awfully handy for just that little edge of heat that lets me get over the edge into sleep when I'm cold. I'm warm enough when I get to sleep, it's just getting me there that can be a problem

I think we need a lightweight hot water bottle before we need something with electrikkery in it.

Army water bottle is OK as a hot water bottle, not had a leak yet. Last winter I filled a 5 litre water bottle up with hot (not boiling) water and that stayed warm in the sleeping bag for the best part of two days.

A Sigg bottle full of boiling water & tucked into a pair of socks works well. These are pretty good for keeping you warm too.
